It’s a truly outstanding service.

However, such quality does come with a pretty nasty drawback. ExpressVPN is notoriously one of the most expensive VPNs on the market, with their annual price coming out to $99.95. Still, if cost isn’t a concern and you’re looking for the best possible quality, you’ll find it with ExpressVPN.

The other supergiant of the VPN market on this list is NordVPN. Without a doubt, NordVPN is the most well-known VPN in the world right now. And for good reason, too. It’s an excellent service. Its software is designed well for all platforms and doesn’t slow down performance, which is vital for mobile users. Its speeds are incredible, to the point where you can leave it running and not even notice the impact on your connection most of the time. And unlike ExpressVPN, its price plan won’t break the bank… for the first year, anyway.

NordVPN, unfortunately, has a pretty misleading price plan. They claim to cost about $59.04 a year, and that’s true until your first plan expires. All plans after that cost nearly double that much, making NordVPN actually become one of the most expensive services on the market. However, that said, like with ExpressVPN, if the price isn’t an issue, NordVPN is one of, if not the highest quality VPN available, no matter your device.

Where the first two on our list were our “spare no expense” choices, Surfshark is a much more sensible option if you don’t want a hole in your wallet. This VPN is often seen as the king of the budget options. This is due to the sheer incredible quality on offer for such an affordable price.

For under $60 a year, you get incredible speeds, intelligently designed software that is stable and low-impact, and reliable connections backed by countless servers in over 50 countries. That, on top of the helpful, friendly 24/7 live chat support, makes for an excellent service that is well worth its price.

Going back up to the more pricey selections, Hotspot Shield is one of the VPNs on our list that was practically made for mobile. Its Android software is straightforward to use and runs so smoothly that it feels like it was designed specifically for mobile devices. Connections are quick and reliable and have a massive range of servers in over 80 countries in total.

The $95.88 annual price means it's only slightly cheaper than ExpressVPN, but if you’re looking for an option that’s easy to use and feels made for Android, Hotspot Shield is an excellent choice.

IPVanish is an excellent choice for anyone who isn’t incredibly techy and just wants a bit of extra security online. Despite their live chat not being 24/7, they were swift to help with any issues we gave them and made the simple process of getting started even easier.

In testing, we were surprised to see that IPVanish’s speeds with mobile devices seem to tend to be even faster than their speeds with desktop computers and other similar devices, making it a great mobile option with stable connections and unlimited simultaneous devices able to be connected at once.

ProtonVPN isn’t a premium provider. It isn’t the top dog, and it isn’t the fastest VPN on the market. That said, it does offer excellent quality and at a great price. ProtonVPN provides several different packages, including a free one and their cheapest paid option, which comes out to about $48 annually. For that price, you get decent speeds, good, reliable connections, and many useful features such as a killswitch and other options.

Like with IPVanish, we’ve actually noticed that ProtonVPN seems to have better speeds for mobile than for desktop computers, making it a worthy contender for Android users. That said, getting started with ProtonVPN isn’t quite so hassle-free, as the software can take some getting used to, and they offer no live support chat to help set things up.

CyberGhost VPN is a service that, not long ago, had a reputation for being “okay”. It was never a lousy VPN by any means, but in recent years, it has made leaps and bounds to renovate itself completely and has gone from a decent service to an excellent one. It offers excellent solid reliability, thousands of servers worldwide, 24/7 live support, and all at a budget price even cheaper than Surfshark.

The only real downside is that we’ve noticed its software doesn’t seem to run quite as smoothly on Android devices as it does with desktop computers and other platforms, as well as offering a bit lower speeds on mobile. However, if that slight performance dip doesn’t bother you, CyberGhost really is an excellent option.

This charming bear-themed VPN is no service to be taken lightly. Offering a low $3.33 monthly price plan and even a free version, TunnelBear offers some excellent quality with its reliable connections, helpful support, and strict no-logging.

Much like with other devices, TunnelBear’s speeds sometimes went up and down during testing. While we never lost connection, we did have our speeds slow from time to time. If you’re able to look past that and the five simultaneous connection caps, however, TunnelBear is another solid budget option that runs excellently on Android.

We’ll cut right to the chase here for #9. If you’re looking for the best deal on a budget VPN, VyprVPN is the way to go. Sure, its $45 annual plan might not look like anything special, but if you take a look at its $60 three-year plan, it all starts to become a bit clearer. That’s $20 a year for solid speeds and an added layer of privacy online.

Unfortunately, despite the live chat support being helpful with any issues we had, VyprVPN’s software was a bit clunky and slowed down performance a bit, particularly on mobile. However, despite that, we had no issues with the service, and we can certainly say it is well worth the price.

SaferVPN was probably one of the easiest times we had setting up a VPN to use. Within a couple of minutes of downloading the software, we had our VPN running and could browse online with SaferVPN’s layer of security guarding our trail. The software is incredibly straightforward to use, live chat was very responsive and helpful, and we had absolutely no problem connecting to various servers.

The speeds were nothing outstanding, but they certainly weren’t bad, either. At a reasonable price, SaferVPN offers a very pleasant VPN experience for Android users.
